Pick a Better Time to Nap
Perth, Australia – If you need to take a nap try to schedule it before or after you try to break into a shopping center…not during your attempt. An exhausted thief fell asleep in the process of seemingly trying to pick the lock of a shopping centre.
Cops in Australia said the man was found snoozing early in the morning outside the complex in Perth with a lock-breaking wire still in his hand. “It appears he fell asleep on the ground with the wire still in his hands and also in the door,” said a policeman. “He obviously had a long night whatever he was doing and that got the better of him. He was then found at eight o’clock, so he’d probably worked through the night and was a bit tired, which isn’t a good attribute for someone in that line of work.” Car keys found on the man opened a nearby vehicle which was filled with scores of prescription drugs linked to the burglary of a pharmacy earlier that day. The man has been charged with driving without a license, burglary and attempted burglary.
A Cheesy Thief
Hartford, CT – A man was up to no “gouda” when he stole four blocks of cheese from a local grocery store and pulled a knife on the manager when he tried to stop the theft. The 41-year-old, obviously a cheese addict, began stuffing cheese into his pocket early in the morning at a Save-A-Lot. Apparently, he felt he could save more by avoiding paying for the $3.49 blocks of cheese. When the manager confronted the man, the cheesy thief drew a steak knife and slashed at the manager but missed. Before fleeing the store, the thief threatened to assault the manager the next time he came back in. The manager called the men in “bleu” and they tracked him down, finding the knife and four blocks of Colby Jack cheese in his left pocket. He was charged with first-degree robbery, sixth-degree larceny, second-degree threatening and carrying a dangerous weapon.
Construction Criticism
Duluth, MN – If you have a temper problem and you want to criticize the way someone is doing their job…make sure you’re not behind the controls of a backhoe. A 48-year-old man was charged for assaulting a construction worker with a backhoe. Although the man, co-owner of the construction company hired for the job, only wanted to “nudge” a construction worker who he felt wasn’t doing his job right, he should’ve factored in the force of the backhoe. For a nudge of a backhoe is considerably different than a nudge from a hand. Had the backhoe operator gotten out of the machine and shouted or tapped the man on the shoulder, it could’ve been a different story. However, the 24-year-old victim ended up in the emergency room. The victim was diagnosed with bruises, but no broken bones and the backhoe driver was charged with second-degree assault. Officials say the victim was lucky he didn’t suffer “grader” harm.
