Saturday, December 19th will mark the first annual TCX (Tuolumne County X-mas), an event that will feature local bands as well as alumni musicians returning home to perform in their current bands. The concert is also a benefit for the Tuolumne County Humane Society. Lupita’s Eproson House in Twain Harte will host Saturday’s 21+ event ($5 Cover). The music kicks off at 8:30 p.m. with The Tankers, a local punk-rock n’ roll 3 piece featuring Donnie Durke on stand-up bass. Frankenstein 59, a classic rockabilly band from Sonora that features Tuolumne native Steve Huntoon on drums, Derek Garcia on guitar and vocals, and Dr.Dave on stand-up bass, will play second. Also performing will be Josh Moore’s old-school country act Drivin’ Nails, which has become a favorite around the region. Moore was the lead singer for a local 90’s punk band called The Belligerents. Ryan Henry, who grew up in Twain Harte and also played in mid-nineties punk bands such as Triple A and Hopelifter along with fellow Tuolumne County alumni Casey Zelinsky, will perform songs from his San Francisco based folk-rock band El Capitan. Zelinsky’s current band Manzanita, from Santa Cruz, will headline the night. The band also features Casey’s brother Tanner on guitar. For more information visit www.myspace.com/dcmmp
