Man on the Street is Greg Kristapovich
“What do YOU think was the greatest invention?”
(asked in Copperopolis)
“The camera! It saves things that happen throughout the years in our life and other people’s lives. It ‘records’ things that happen – including all the other inventions! I have a digital camera, a battery operated camera that uses film and a video camera. I’ve had a “Captivia”! A Captivia is a Polaroid where the print comes out, and there’s a little ‘pocket’ that it goes into while it dries. I like to photograph kids, events, holidays! I mean, there are lots of inventions, but I think the camera is the best one!” – Carrie Sanders, Copperopolis, (gas station customer service)
“Wireless technology! Things go from point A to point Z, and nobody ever sees anything. It gets there quicker than anything else! Anything from cell phones to Twitter to the Internet, television, the ‘dish’! Pretty much ninety percent of everything that’s done now electronically, is done wireless! For the greatest invention, I was going to say ‘sliced bread’”. – Bart Owens, Copperopolis, (Bread truck driver, aka “The Breadman”)
“The GPS! It’s one of the greatest inventions ever! As a realtor trying to find homes that you have never seen and have no idea where they are, the GPS gets you right where you’re trying to be! We’re always looking for places we’ve never heard of!” – Bonnie Kappler, Copperopolis, (realtor)
“The telephone…and all the mining tools that were used in Copperopolis! That’s what made Copperopolis a booming town!” – Chad Groves, Copperopolis, (feed store worker)
“Besides candy? The greatest invention? Not the cell phone. It’s kept a lot of people ‘out of touch’, I think. I mean they talk, but nobody really talks anymore. They just do stuff on the phone – and they use the phone to text – for everything! I would probably say the automobile was one of the best inventions! It makes it a little easier to get where I need to go quickly.” – Sonia Gomez, Copperopolis, (Universal Associate, ie., bank teller)
