Training to Save Lives
Mi Wuk’s Jeff Santi of Tuolumne County Fire and Local Twain Harte Volunteer Firefighter Albert Desrosiers practicing an evolution of taking the “side out” of a four-door sedan, where two doors are removed at once with the B post. This allows access to the victim(s) of a traffic accident by making a large opening so that their medical needs can be addressed. Both Firefighters attended a recent Auto Extrication Workshop sponsored by the Twain Harte Fire and Rescue Training Division, L.N. Curtis & sons, Hurst Tools and Ahearn’s Towing in Mono Vista. The Team gets together every month for a three-hour session and is ready to respond 24/7. Photo by Paul Waite, Fire Captain/Training Officer.
