Back to School Snack
This Betty Crocker inspired snack will give you energy at recess or after school.
You will need:
3 cups honey graham cereal
11/3 cups salted peanuts
1 cup banana chips
2 tablespoons margarine or butter
2 tablespoons honey
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon salt
4 cups popped popcorn ( about ¼ cup unpopped)
1 cup flaked coconut
1 cup dried cranberries
Wash your hands well and read all the directions.
1. Measure cereal, peanuts and banana chips into a 3 quart bowl.
2. In a small bowl mix melt butter in the microwave.
3. To the butter stir in the honey, cinnamon and salt; pour over the cereal mixture. Toss with fingers until evenly coated. Wash and dry your hands.
4. Microwave the cereal and butter mixture uncovered on HIGH 3 to 4 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes, until toasted. Watch carefully so it does not burn.
5. Stir in the popcorn, coconut and cranberries.
6. Sprinkle with salt to taste.7.Let set for an hour or until cool. Store in an airtight container.

Wow, that does sound good! I’ll have to try it. All my kids are gone now, but maybe I’ll try it for a movie night sometime, or as a snack for work. I like these little-kid things too, you know…
