They Come from Far and Wide… To the Twain Harte Farmers Market! Photo and Story by Greg Kristapovich
A Family came all the way from Clayton, (near Walnut Creek) to experience Twain Harte! “We vacation in Twain Harte every summer—and love it!” exclaims their mother, Kristy, who has just purchased fresh produce at the Twain Harte Famers’ Market! “We rent a cabin every summer, the same cabin we’ve had for five years! We love it! We love the weather, the lake! The kids love to play ‘putt, putt’ (miniature golf)! We like the Farmers’ Market with its fresh fruit and vegetables! And we plan on coming to the free movie in the park tonight, (Friday)! What got the family coming up here? “A friend of ours had a cabin and offered it to us for a week, in the summer, and we loved it! We fell in love with Twain Harte!” mom exclaims, as she purchases fresh plums from Rohn Mein. Assisting their mother in the shopping are daughter, Madison, 10 and son, Jayson, 7. Their father, David, was standing nearby with daughter, Sydney, 2. While folks enjoy the Market, Terry Oggletree from Twain Harte Market plays melodies on his synthesizer keyboard; (several by request), such as Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” and B.J. Thomas’s “Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head”. There’s nothing like Twain Harte—and its Friday (4-6 p.m.) Farmers’ Market!
