Dad’s Cake (Some parental participation required)
This quick and easy cake originated with the Campbell soup people. Who else would put tomato soup in a cake mix?
You will need:
1 package spice cake mix
1 (10 ounce) can tomato soup
¼ cup water
3 eggs
1/3 cup vegetable oil
¾ cup chopped walnuts
¾ cup raisins
Wash your hands well and read all the directions. Ask an adult to help you pre-heat the oven to 350°
1. In a large bowl combine the cake mix, tomato soup, water, eggs, and vegetable oil.
2. With an electric beater beat on low speed until moistened.
3. Beat at medium speed for 2 minutes.
4. Fold in the walnuts and raisins.
5. Pour batter into 9X13 cake pan and bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
Cool completely. Frost with cream cheese frosting or sprinkle with powdered sugar.
