Last Bus to Clarksville
Clarksville, TN – School bus drivers will be paying closer attention to who board their buses after a 46-year-old man posed as a middle school student and tried to get onto a Kenwood Middle School Bus. Even with a shave, baggy pants and a backwards hat, it would be hard to blend in with students thirty years younger than yourself. The bus driver quickly noticed the man after he boarded and confronted him. The man tried to tell the driver he was an eighth grader at Kenwood Middle School, but rather than stop the bus and cause a scene, the driver continued to the school to unload the children. When the man got off the bus at the school 15 minutes later he was stopped by a teacher and left the property. The man was later arrested at a convenience store near the school for shoplifting and trespassing.
Rocks and Boredom
Milford, CT –Although there probably isn’t a whole lot to do in Connecticut, teenagers are always good at coming up with exciting activities. Even throwing rocks can be a form of entertainment. Teenagers can often be found throwing rocks at cans and bottles for hours at a time. However, five Milford teenagers decided to choose bigger targets…cars. Police say the teens drove around West Haven’s West Shore area late Saturday and early Sunday throwing potato-size rocks at parked cars…65 to be exact. The first reports came in to police early Saturday of several vehicles being vandalized and a white car was involved, so when a patrol officer stopped a white 1991 Buick full of five teenagers and rocks, he quickly put an end to their rampage. The five teenagers were charged with dozens of counts of second-degree criminal mischief and conspiracy to commit second-degree criminal mischief.
Fight for Nonviolence
Silver Springs, MD – The word “ironic” was invented for such occasions as this: Montgomery County police said that 16 people were arrested after a fight broke out during a concert held to promote nonviolence and to remember a Silver Spring teen killed last year. The free Stop the Violence youth concert was held in downtown Silver Spring in memory of a 14-year-old, who was shot to death in November. Police say fighting broke out near the stage toward the end of the concert and at least one person resisted arrest. Sixteen adults and juveniles were arrested for offenses such as assault and disorderly conduct.
