Motherlode Mardis Gras! by Greg Kristapovich
Crazy costumes, mouth-watering jambalaya and the hypnotizing sounds of the Diamond Duo, Natalia and Bobby! What more could you ask for, at a Mardi Gras! Determined celebrants braved slick streets to get to the Sonora Elks Lodge, January 24th, to attend another exciting Emblem Club fundraiser! Pre-dinner cocktails were enjoyed, raffle tickets were snapped up and the enchanting sound of Bobby’s saxophone filled the banquet room with the notes of Billy Joel’s “Just The Way You Are” Several Mardi Gras attendees roamed the room in spectacular attire! Soon, the gourmet – style jambalaya was served and savored! Natalia’s beautiful singing and Bobby’s infectious sax playing soon got just about everyone out on the dance floor! There’s nothing like a Mardi Gras to cure cabin fever, or get rid of the Winter-time blues. Kudos to the Emblem Club!
