Riding the Party Bus into the New Year!
It sometimes got pretty wild and crazy inside the Party Bus!
What genius! A New Year’s Eve Party Bus! A shuttle that took party-goers to four different bars along the Hwy 108 corridor: Courtside Bar and Grill in Twain Harte, Confidence Inn in Confidence, Big Daddy’s Smokin’ Bar B-Q in Sugar Pine and Diamond Jim’s in Mi Wuk Village – on a continuous loop – all night long! There was a small charge for the Party Bus wristband, but it allowed for unlimited rides from 8 p.m., until the bars closed at 2 a.m., January 1st, 2009! Sadly, as I rode the bus, I saw numerous scenes of the Highway Patrol pulling over cars and administering sobriety tests. But I felt safe inside the Party Bus; not having to drive on the icy roads, or dodge deer. And nobody on the Party Bus had to breathe into a breathalyzer. This handy dandy shuttle was provided by Linkline Bus Charters & Tours. Dave De Cheney, V.P. of Linkline drove the bus and was a most hospitable chauffeur! The coordinator of the Party Bus event, Shirley Vierth, of Any Event (Event Planning and Tours) and her husband, Doug rode the bus, too. And they were very charming and accommodating! It was a lot of fun! And, if a picture says a thousand words, please enjoy the pictures below! And, Happy New Year!!
Dancing in the New Year at Diamond Jim’s! Couples enjoyed the entertainment provided by Tim Sean of Sonora’s Touch the Stove Productions, who electronically “spun” some pretty good classic rock and country tunes!
Crazy Ivan’s lead guitarist, Greg Noll plays up a storm, as Mariah Jo Hendrickson (left) and Jessica Gibson, both of Groveland, enjoy a rockin’ New Year’s Eve at Big Daddy’s!
As D.J. Dippy spun his techno, hip hop and dance club music, party-goers got into the mood at Courtside Bar & Grill!
