Chinese Chicken Wings
Celebrate the Chinese New Year: The Year of the Ox, on January 26 with Chinese Chicken Wings, pea pods and white rice.
You will need:
3 pounds chicken wings and drummies
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons canola or vegetable oil
1 cup honey
½ cup soy sauce
1 clove garlic, mashed
2 tablespoons ketchup
Wash your hands well and read all the directions.
1. Ask an adult to help you preheat the oven to 375°
2. Ask an adult to cut the wings in half and remove the tips.
3. Place the chicken wings and drummies in a 9X12 inch shallow baking pan.
4. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and vegetable oil.
5. Ask an adult to help you peel the garlic and place in a garlic press.
6. In a bowl mix together with a whisk the honey, soy sauce, garlic and ketchup.
7. Pour the sauce over the chicken wings. Move the wings around so they are evenly coated.
Bake for 50 minutes.
