Another popular week at www.sierramountaintimes.com. Here is what readers had to say:
“Jon Cavaiani is one of the bravest living soldiers in the United States. God Bless you sir!” – Mike, in response to Greg Kristapovich’s November 7th Man on the Street question about Veterans Day.
“Where are the pictures from the KILLER Halloween show at the Black Oak Casino? There were some awesome costumes there as well.” – Bob, in response to Greg Kristapovich’s November 7th photo essay on Halloween in the Mother Lode.
“I saw the article in the Stockton Record and immediately found this to be an intriguing evening to spend with my brothers and sisters who all grew up as Beatles fans from the 60’s. My sister Claire was one of the lucky ones who was able to see them at the Cow Palace in San Francisco with winning tickets from the local radio station KJOY! Anyway, it’s my youngest brother’s 49th Birthday and I thought this would be a nice evening to jaunt up the hill for the night to hear about your long and winding road adventure that our Lord set out for you. There will be 7 of us coming up from Linden, Stockton, Modesto and Sacramento, to hear your testimony. Thank you.” – CoCo Guthrie, in response to Thomas Atkins’ November 7th article on Ken Mansfield’s Long and Winding Road with the Beatles.
“I know tons of veterans, including Jon Cavaiani. I’ve known Jon for many years, since before he moved here. I’m a former “Green Beret,” like Jon. I was a demolition specialist (explosives expert), heavy weapons leader, intelligence sergeant and radio operator in Special Forces from 1962-1968. I spent a little over a year and a half in Vietnam and 7 months in Ethiopia during their border war in 1964. Like Jon, I wish more people would treat Veterans Day for what it is, rather than “just another holiday and special shopping day.” Jon, I didn’t do ANY shopping on Veterans Day. Dick James, Arnold. 3rd, 5th, 6th & 7th Special Forces Groups; member, Special Forces Association; member, Veterans of Foreign Wars; member, Disabled American Veterans.” – Dick James, in response to Greg Kristapovich’s November 7th Man on the Street question about Veterans Day.
There were plenty more, so stay tuned next week!
