Another popular week at sierramountaintimes.com. Here is what readers had to say:
“My parents live in Twain Harte and when we were little, we would go to the cemeteries and look at the gravestones. I remember one in particular that struck me because the little boy who died was about my age at the time: Alexander McSorley. He was a pioneer child who probably died of cholera or a fever around age 10 - it made quite an impression on our family and to this day, we all know the name of Alexander McSorley. Even if we don’t know exactly who he was, we know he died too young and he has a final resting place in the Sierras. Thank you for your article.” – Nancy Wagner, St. Paul, MN, in response to Thomas Atkins’ October 31st article on Cemeteries in the Mother Lode.
“Kay, fond memories. Need to revisit the “T” soon. Best wishes.” – Kenny George, in response to Kay Crow’s October 10th article on the Tuolumne River.
“Good article. I too have cherokee in my blood but most of us went north to Oregon. It’s nice to know the people (the literal meaning of ‘Cherokee’) were here too.” – Jerry, in response to Wayne Kirkbride’s October 17th article about the Cherokee people.
“Thank you so much for having us, we had a blast, and we look forward to coming back sometime. A huge thank you to Jeanne Hand and her staff at the St. Charles Saloon. We had a blast at your establishment – the staff and hospitality are amazing. The St. Charles ROCKS! Thank you too to everyone who came out that day, it’s always a great time when we’re in Columbia, we enjoy it so much. And thank you to Greg Kristapovich. Thank you for taking the time to stop by and to talk with us and for adding us in your write up of the event, it means a lot to us. See you soon!” – Steve Capitanich Band, in response to Greg Kristapovich’s October 3rd article on the Poison Oak Festival in Columbia.
