Long Barn Car Show and Craft Faire ‘08
And the winner is: a 1928 Buick 4 door Town Brougham. Diantha Potter of Columbia poses with her winning entry, along with John Savidge, her driver/mechanic. “This is the first trophy this car has won!” Diantha proudly proclaims. “It was dad’s car. It’s been in the family a long time, and I inherited it in 1993!”

Quickly growing in popularity, the 2nd Annual Show ‘N’ Shine Car Show and Craft Faire was held in Long Barn on August 16th, and was a resounding success! There was an impressive display of custom cars and hot rods; a wide array of arts and crafts; face painting; and tantalizing BBQ prepared and sold by Sonny’s Smokin’ BBQ of Sierra Village. A multitude of raffle prizes were awarded and live blues-rock was performed by the fast-rising local band, Dossi on the Rocks! “Wow! What a great turn out!” exclaimed Debbie Sharp, promoter of the car show. “I’m so happy to see the community come out to support our event!” Proceeds will benefit Kids Reach, a program that provides grants to teachers in schools from Twain Harte, eastward to Pinecrest.
A couple of car enthusiasts admire a ’69 Chevrolet El Camino, owned by Chuck Bottelson of Sierra Village.
A redneck birdfeeder? Indeed! Utilizing empty beverage bottles, e.g., Jack Daniels, Bud Light, Pepsi, the artisan (Nancy Reflection’s of Mi Wuk) has created some rather unique looking hummingbird feeders!
Guy Dossi, front and center, leads his group, Dossi on the Rocks, with his bluesy vocals and accomAplished guitar work. On the porch behind, and backing him up are, (left to right): Max Bechtle (guitar), Daniel Zeien (drums) and Justin Waters (bass).
