Mi Wuk – Sugar Pine Fire Department
In the futile attempts to fleece the two small communities of 1,400 or so properties of Sugar Pine and Mi-Wuk and to procure a handful of paid positions, the animosity of the Board, the paid volunteers (what’s that?), and a small misled following have become very antagonistic.
As a small business, I pay taxes also: Federal, U.S. Forest Service; State, California Department of Forestry and Cal Fire; County, Tuolumne County Fire, which supplies their primary engine and fuel. These agencies are located between Twain Harte and Mi Wuk and approximately 4 minutes apart. Our agencies are capable and very adequate agencies, which overlap 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
I am formally and publicly demanding the removal of my name from the brick siding. In my eyes this is identity theft. I gave no one, in any way, permission to imprint my name on one of these bricks. I do not advocate, support or endorse the Mi Wuk – Sugar Pine Fire Department.

Stamp Problems
I have a problem with the price of postage stamps in Tuolumne County.
I live in a remote location and have discovered that our postage vending machines have been removed or are in a state of disrepair.
Some Sundays ago I wanted to purchase stamps to mail off some bills. I went to Strawberry, Pinecrest, Long Barn, Mi-Wuk, Twain Harte, Standard, then to Sonora Main Post Office to purchase postage. No luck.
L.T. at Sonora Main says his machines are out of service because he has the person who fills the machine sorting mail. Randy at the counter sometimes has 30 minutes worth of residents waiting in line to purchase postage and other stuff.
Since I’ve voiced my complaint my mail has gone astray. Neighbors come by to ask if their mail in my box. One day four came by looking for support checks. Wow!
L.T. lied to me on May 23. I filed a complaint c.v. 37818080. It was not addressed. Mail being mis-delivered, co 37938284 was filed on May 30. Also not addressed. I’ll bet if the burden of selling postage stamps were removed my complaint would be handled.
L.T. promised a P.O. Box in town in March. It’s now June. L.T. Spending money on fuel and time driving to purchase a stamp from an unstocked machine is a dis-service to the public. This may sound personal but money to pay bills is mailed to me. It really screws up my credit if I’m constantly paying late bills.
When I speak to Sacramento they are very indifferent. They request I go online to purchase postage. My request to the post office is a simple one. Someone sworn to protect and to serve, like a Federal Marshal is needed here to deliver mail. Arm this person with a postage scale, change and stamps and an understanding of placing mail in the box that matches the address. I don’t think this is that hard.
– Tom Wilson, Sonora
